A typical Chinese restaurant
We decided to start our dinner early on that day (we finished late though!) and got to the restaurant at around 7 PM. The crowds arrived about an hour later and the place ended up being packed.

Crustaceans & Shellfish: Pick your food from a fish tank, same as in Japan.
And this is very different from Japan: In China they give you a seat cover to protect your purse and other belongings from possible theft!
Another restaurant feature completely different from Japan is the white tablecloths, same as in many western countries. I'm a big fan of tablecloths as they make the meal seem more luxurious. As far as cuisine and table manners are concerned, China is close to western culture. And there are quite a few more similarities between China and the West, much more than Japan and the West I'd say. Think people, history, or size. Things in China tend to be very large, such as buildings or food portions. People are quite big too. Well, it depends on where you go.
