I departed from Hong Kong with mixed feelings. Part of me wanted to stay in this luxurious city full of energy, part of me wanted to come back to Sapporo where the pace is a bit slower and life a bit simpler, but the people are also nicer, kinder.
Smiling JAL ground personnel greeted passengers in transit and showed them the way. I always forget what # shuttle bus stops in my neighborhood, so I asked at the information desk. A lady dressed in a pretty uniform took me directly to the bus stop ... The generosity of the Hokkaido people is one thing that keeps me here. The peace and quiet is another. As I was riding the bus we passed through sleepy villages, forests and past green fields with grazing sheep. Peace, that's what I felt when I came back, although Sapporo is no place for a princess (and I'm not saying I am one, but would I like to be one, that's another question, lol). Life here is simple and you better not be spoilt.
The only thing I really hated was the temperature shock: 27 degrees in Hong Kong vs 7 degrees in Sapporo, and it had even snowed while I was away. Ouch.
But now that it's summer I have no complaints! Sapporo's summer is perfect and I savor every day of it. :)
